This may not be a fair one as these places do change to new owners after a time , but l will never for get our stay on a caravan park that was so filthy l found grit in my sheets in the cabin the first night l climbed in to them at GLENN INNES the whole cabin was grotty along with my daughter in laws one all so , she slept in her car , the next d day we left doing the rest of the nights money as there was no refunds , we had booked ahead so never seen it , the name was blue opal l think , worst place l ever stayed in , never slept at all that night .
All l can say is its very risky too at times to book ahead of your trip some times its better to pull off the road around 3 pm and get a nice clean place to stay in stead of taking pot luck, as we all so saw a very dissatisfied gentleman that tried to get his money back from a motel to no avail he all so booked ahead
and got caught .

Bet they wouldn't do too well from a health and hygiene inspection.

i too wasn't overly impressed with a caravan park in Glenn Innes. We only got an ensuite site as we had a camper. The ensuite was dirty and i was appalled that on my honeymoon i needed to clean up someone elses mess before i could get clean and clean my kids! Yes i took the kids on our honeymoon couldn't bare to leave them for 3 weeks!

Have decided that we wont ever be staying in any place in Glenn Innes regardless of how it looks or is, will keep travelling either side before we stop!

wonder if vibe will come up with a program where they send you to 'test' accommodation - LOL - imagine the madness then!! Of course, Hayman, Daydream or Hamilton Islands would be great :) :)

Hey - you never know what is round the corner .......

Well if they ever do come up with a program to test caravan parks, I'll be in on that!! I travel all over Australia in my caravan with my family. It would be a pleasure to be rewarded to give my opinon on those places.

My worst place so far would be Marion Bay. The owners were soooo rude and abrupt. They were snappy, snotty and didn't act like they wanted any of us there. I don't understand why they are in the business in the first place!!

Blingy I have a horrible melbourne hotel story like yours too!!!
Our room was disgusting!! The shower had mould growing in it!!! When I complained to the cleaning staff she said that it was because the plumbing system was old. EWWWW!!! We didnt step foot in the bathroom and couldnt wait to get out of there!
I wrote a letter of complaint and never hear anything back from the hotel. I also complained to my travel agent that recommended the hotel to us.
It is always brought up with anyone that is considering going to melbourne for a holiday. I always tell them my horror hotel story!!

We stayed in an apartment block in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast once and was not even there for 4 hours before our car was stolen! This is not a whinge about the apartment so much as the manager was as helpful as he could be- but we later learnt that the first 3 blocks closest to the beach is where the majority of the crime takes place!
This has made us re-think about staying in the southern areas of QLD's Gold Coast.

Sebel Pier One in Sydney. The security lock on our door was broken. The shower door did not close completely resulting in a slippery puddle the length of the bathroom. When we requested a room change for the second night, we got nothing but attitude. For that kind of money, I expect a bit of customer service.

Last year we went to France for the Rugby World Cup and went through Wallaby Travel ( DON'T EVER travel through them!). Our trip cost $26,000 each and the real low point was in Toulousse in France. Our "hotel" room was the size of a shoe box- my husband had to sit sideways on the toilet to use it, the bathroom was so small. On the back of the door in our room was a list of "hourly room rates" - yes THOSE kind of rates (nudge , nudge, wink, wink) We were accosted out the front of the hotel by hookers and pickpockets, and the garbage bin out the front was full of needles and empty boxes of methadone. My husband got threatened with a knife and had to hand over all of the money in his wallet after going out to get cigarettes. We were later informed that that part of toulousse was the "red-light district". . . .

I wasn't happy with the service at Rydges Resort in Port Douglas. My husband won a holiday through an incentive program at his work. I can't complain about the room itself, it was fine, except for a horrible smell from the drain in our ensuite.

The staff seemed ok until they realised we weren't 'paying' guests. We thought we would see a difference when our friends decided to come and spend a night at the resort in their own room. The service they received(as paying guests)was no better. I don't really want to go into details because I will be here all night.

Just be aware, and do your homework before you decide to stay somewhere. I wouldn't usually complain about something that we got for free. It was proved when our friends came to stay and they weren't happy with what they had to pay for.

I stayed at the Inna Kuta Resort in Bali.. It was expensive for Balinese accomodation and I've stayed there previously. They have since been taken over by another company and i couldn't believe the difference. Very anti- australian. Filthy rooms that had disgusting ordours and the receptionist refused to give us a room with one bed, even though that is what we booked. Argued with him for a while but he ended up telling us for $50 AUD he would help us out. It's amazing that even in the apparently reputable hotels they try to rip us off. They forgot to mention of their websit that they are also doing reno's so my main reason for staying at this hotel being the pool bar was a waste of time.

We HATED Bangkok! The accommodation was great - Pathumwan Princess at MBK Centre. The Bangkok people were rude and if they could rip you off, they would. They hardly bargained with you, and not much "Named" brands around. Everyone said Bangkok shopping was better and cheaper thasn Phuket - WRONG!!
We will never stay there again, and neither would another couple we spoke to who have been going there for 10 years. They too, have had enough!

Last year We went to the Gold Coast where we stayed at tricket Gardens in surfers paradise , the place was a MESS it was disgusting. The room smelt like bleach, with mould on the ceilings. Its was cheap (considering the centeral location) but you can find other places for the same price wich are soo much better ( walking distance away) .
