We purchased a brand new Jeep in June 2008. It is covered by the new car warranty for 2 years or 100,00km's. Well 18 months from when we bought it the rear gas struts that hold the rear tailgate have failed. We bought it in Adelaide but now live in Karratha in WA. I have rung the dealership in Perth who don't want to know about it because we bought the car in Adelaide and I have called Adelaide who don't want to know about it because we live in WA. After about 20 phone calls and doing my nana big time I am finally getting some new struts, but.....I get the priveledge of paying for them, and the postage to get them here AND the labour cost for the mechanic to put them in for me. I have been told if I can get the car to a dealership they can do it for nothing...the nearest is 1500km's away from me...really. I will never recommend anybody to buy a Jeep if they are going to have to deal with the idiocracy of their garbage they keep sprouting to me.
