| I started to buy these for "going out" convenience (luckily I have too many children to go out often!) - but REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND why every flavor has apple in it.
6ish month old babies need to learn flavor variation - spinach, apple, broccoli & pea? UH
Sweet potato, apple and carrot tastes like a LOLLY it's so sweet!
No wonder our kids end up with dietary problems.

| | Don't quote me on this, but I think the apple is put in to counteract the other foods that block bubs up like the pumpkin, potato etc. | | | |

| I've never bought the Raffertys Garden baby food, so I can't comment on those. I always bought the Only Organics stuff, that stuff is awesome! They actually taste like real food, I would almost eat them myself LOL | | | |

| i think the apple is put in as a cheap filler. if you read the back of pack the percentage of apple is probably higher. also like 'angiejake09' said. it maybe there for its fiber content. also a familiar taste eases babies into new taste.. heinze do apple, apple pear. pear and banana.
raferties smoothies are great and the taste range is good.

| I use their foods as a convenience item - and my little man has moved on to the meal sachets - and I can't believe they actually taste like real food. Unlike some of the awful stuff in the supermarkets. It can't be considered a replacement for home-cooked meals, but it keeps my little man happy when we are out and about | | | |

| | I think it has something to do with the acidity of the apple working as a natural preservitive | | | |

| RETRACTION I should've added this earlier, since Penny has been 6months old I've been primarily feeding her the same food as the rest of the family eats.
EXCEPT for when we go out or when we're eating something I can't modify. Then I rely completely on the RAFFERTY'S GARDEN range :-D
They're all natural ingredients, packed with flavor, but without salt and sugar - They're conveniently sized packages, they have a wonderful range - I don't have to wonder what she's eating in the mush, I can see the pieces. My four year old begs me to give her some as she's often hungry before dinner is ready.
It's MOST IMPORTANT to me that my babies learn to eat the same food we do, which is why I dislike many baby foods (that seem to teach them how to eat only baby food and not tolerate anything with flavor or texture). Rafferty's Garden is the best alternative I've found to home prepared meals.
Cheers all
All in all, Rafferty's Garden products ARE GOLD. Share it round.

| | I used to use Raffertys all the time but today I saw a purple brand called Organic Bubs at my local Coles for the first time. They don't just use apple fillers They have amazing Masterchef ingredients like chia and raspberries. Raffertys only has a few organic flavours, they are mostly non-organic so I was excited to find this new 100% organic brand - and they are the same price only $1.99. My baby loves them without all the apple. I am a convert and so is she! | | | |

| | I love Rafferty's. Would much prefer they use apple as a filler than something I can't even recognise. Nothing but REAL food makes this a winner for me. | | | |

| | Funnily enough the only one that doesn't have anything sweet in it (the tuna, rice and veg-Blue) is the only one my daughter will eat. My husband likes the apple and sweet potato though :P | | | |
