| | When we first started taking the odd trip (we are a family of 6), we used Virgin or Qantas depending on prices. Then Jetstar came on board, they were fine at first. But, a few months ago, I was not impressed. I am shocked that they are able to get away with the service they give. Obviously, the price you pay is the amount of service you get. My husband said that next time he would rather pay extra and fly with someone else. | | | |

| | Yes - I agree, service has been shocking through Jetstar - on the ground booking in, right through to on board service. | | | |

| | Just how bad is it? I'm tempted to use them because of the price, I don't mind missing out a bit for extra spending money but if they are truly a nightmare to deal with I'll give them a miss. Has anyone got any examples of things that have gone wrong? | | | |

| I have used Jetstar for short flights and have never had a problem, they always smiled & said hello - service was a little rushed but when you only have like 30 mins to feed & water a flight i think its understandable. I don't know what their long haul flights are like but for me i would rather spend a little on the flight and have average service so i have more to spend at my destination | | | |

| I tried Jetstar last time I went up to Gold Coast. It was all good on the way there. But on my way back on a not so sunny day, the noise level of the airplane was just unbelievable. I got woken up by the this loud noise in my ears, that was just unbearable. Regardless of the cheaper fare, I will skip it next time. | | | |

| Each time we have used Jetstar it has been a 2 hour or longer flight. And we have 4 children to add into the mix. We used them a fair bit because they almost always are the cheapest. I don't really want to go into detail about our recent experience(it's a long story). It really may have been that particular cabin crew that day that made the journey so difficult. It's just that we became accustomed to the Jetstar service in general. Then we flew with Virgin (they had a sale) and couldn't believe the difference in service and their attitude towards children etc... and somehow, it was just alot more comfortable. And Qantas are no. 1 in my mind, but one cannot always afford the fare. So, if you want a cheap flight and don't care about service by all means go with them . | | | |

| Personally I wouldn't go near Jetstar with a 10 foot pole! The 4 times I have flown with them (2 return flights) were absolute nightmares. One was for a weekend away to the Sunshine Coast, Friday to Sunday. The Friday night flight was delayed by 6 hours and we were stuck at Avalon with only a coffee machine to keep us entertained. We finally arrived in Brisbane in the early hours of the morning and were so tired all Saturday that the weekend was useless. Then when we flew back it was delayed 4 hours to get home! The second time was even worse, we boarded at Avalon and were due to return to Avalon but the plane was diverted mid flight to tullamarine and we were told we had to make our own way to Avalon which was where our car was (at least a 1.5 hour drive away)! I wouldn't recommend them to anyone, no matter how cheap the are | | | |

| | We used Jetstar and found they were fantastic. The flight staff were great, theres plenty to eat and drink. Flight landed early. I would recommend them to everyone. I guess that all airlines will have their onw problems at some time. Isn't Jetstar owned by Qantas?? | | | |

| I have flown with Jetstar about 20 times, and have only been delayed once about 2 hours. That can happen to any airline though. I must admit the service has been better with Virgin Blue, and I have now flown with them about 10 times in the last 6 months. The only thing is Jetstar are easier to get to for me at Avalon airport.
The flights are cheaper on Jetstar, and as long as you don't want 5 star service, it is good.
sj11, it should take less than an hour to get to Avalon from Tullamarine.

Tulla is still way too far away when our car was parked in Avalon and I can tell you that even an hour long taxi ride is not cheap! Not to mention it was a Sunday night, and we live 2.5 hours from Avalon so it took us over 4 hours to get home from when we landed in Melbourne, following on from a 4 hour delay in Brisbane!
I've never been on any other airline that has returned me to the wrong airport and then not offered the slightest bit of assistance in correcting the problem. Believe me, I wasn't the only passanger who was VERY disappointed in the service. As I said before, my only experiences with Jetstar have been negative ones and the customer service did nothing to resolve the situation.

| | Totally agree Jetstar sucks... they lost my sons bag so we got to melbourne with only the clothes on his back. Called them numerous times and they could not locate bag so I had to go shopping for new clothes for the next day. Finally at 10pm they located the bag in Sydney airport just sitting in the luggage room (lucky for them I didn't have a bomb in there). Then I was told they would not reimburse me for the clothes I bought as the bag was found within 24hours. We landed in melbourne at 7am but they expected me to keep waiting. We made about 6 calls that day and nobody knew what was going on or where the bag could be. Have never used them again. | | | |

| | I flew Jetstar from Perth to Gold Coast Via Melbourne in July and returned in August (no direct flights), If you need to connect then I suggest go with Virgin Blue if not by all means go Jetstar. Jetstars cheap service means you have to collect your baggage and check-in again! They don't do it for you. For this reason we missed our Melbourne to Perth flight as the first Gold Coast- Melbourne was delayed, we had to fork out $70 each, plus 200 for a hotel room for the night (they leave you there expecting you know where to go). I will only take Jetstar now if the flights are very cheap and I don't need a connection. | | | |
