I sympathise with you. I am diabetic and have been for 10 years. so far not on insulin. But shopping and reading labels take longer than the shopping used to take. A lot of products are low in fat, but when you check the sugars they are sky high to make up the flavours. So I have gone back to the days of cooking froma recipe for nearly everything. Then I know what is in what we are eating. There are lots of things out there. If there is an ingredient you can not eat/tolerate, find/think of a substitute. My husband can not eat honey, so some cookie recipes I have cooked I have used Golden syrup, it works. I also lower the sugar content of most recipes. Some I have substituted Olive oil instead of butter, it works. But you have to check both sugar and fat numbers under the 100 gm list on the nutritional guide. Good luck. L K
