| I turned 41 last week and have decided to get fit, lose weight and be healthier! I'm hoping that by making my weight loss journey public (facebook, blog, HERE) it will be easier for me to stick with it. So, I am going to put a link to my blog here - please feel free to follow my journey, leave comments, handy hints, tips, inspirational quotes if you like(can you tell I need all the help I can get?)and let me know you're a Viber if you do. I figure the more people I tell, the less likely I will be to go back to my old habits!
I'm hoping that a problem shared will be a problem halved (literally)and would love your help!
Wish me luck and stay tuned...

| | Wow Kymichelle, 2.3kg is a good loss. What are you actually doing? Are you on a programme or just watching calories? | | | |

| | Thanks Coffeekatz. No program, just doing what I know I should alsways do - eating better and less, and exercising more. I also eat every 3 hours - so I don't have a chance to get hungry (or bored in my case) so breakfast at 9, lunch 12, snack 3, tea 6pm etc. If I'm up early just have breakfast at 6am and a peice of fruit at 9am and so on. It seems to work for me. I intend to get help after the first 10 kilos when I'm usre I'll get stuck! I'll probably go to a naturopath rather than a weight loss program . I'm also telling EVERYONE I'm doing it so I have to stick to it :) | | | |

| kazza8 I wish you good luck too. I bet you get comments from insensitive people like a friend of mine who just CAN'T put on weight!
It's my "weigh day" today and I've lost 1.6 in the last week making a total of 3.9 in two weeks. I must admit, I'ts been hard going, but worth it as I'm already feeling better, and on track for being 10kg's off by our holiday in September.

| Hey, that's fantastic Kymichelle - you are going great guns. I hope you reward yourself at the end of each week with say an item of something personal you may want e.g. make-up, jewellery, perfume (doesn't need to be expensive, it's an incentive reward).....worked for me when I gave up smoking. I am thinking of you every day as I am trying to watch what I eat here (only need to lose about 6 kgs, but gosh it is hard) but I have to say, in just reading what you are going through, helps and spurs me on so I want to say thank you. | | | |

| Growing up Kazza I was one of those people that couldn't put weight on. I will always remember how I hated summer, because the top of the bikini would be alright but the bottom was way too big. It was so great when they bought out where you could buy different tops to bottoms in sizes. I actually didn't start to put weight on till I reached 40. Now I am in my early 50s and trying to get weight shifted from my middle. Everywhere else is in proportion its just the middle aged spread. arghhhhhhhhh. Swimming and weight training may help you Kazza. If I hear or read any ideas Kazza, will pass them on here for you.

| | Thanks so much for the support - it really helps - and helps me keep on track! In 3 weeks I have lost 4.9kg (the weight of my cat who is a LUMP!) Still on track and not tempted to return to old habits (yet - hope I can keep it up!) | | | |

| | Well it's weigh day again, and I've lost 1.6 this week (partly due to a bad stomache for a couple of days) but also because I've tried really hard with the healthy eating and exercise this week. So 6.5 kg in total over the 4 weeks so far. I'm waiting for it to slow down, but that will be OK as I feel so much better and this week have noticed my clothes feel better and looser ( I see a new wardrobe at the end of this!). I am not a particualrly energetic person and not usually disciplined when it comes to this, but I guess it was just the "right time" for me and so far so good. What I'm saying is if I can do it - ANYONE can! I'm not starving myself - in fact the opposite eating 5 - 6 times a day (3 hourly) and the same things I usually eat just less, and with more fruit, vegetables and water and NO chocolate (so far) and I've got to say, I am not missing it yet but I know that will change. Wish me luck as I continue! | | | |

| It's Monday again, and this week I've lost 600gms! It's slowing down now, but I'm OK with that as I'm still on target and not tempted to resort to old bad habits (althought the Cadbury party on here might test me!) At the end of 5 weeks I've lost 7.1kg and have got down under a weight I wanted to "beat", as part of the first stage of my journey! It actually really helps to blog about it and write here - even if it's only for me - it's therapeutic like a diary! And now I'm off to swim lap after lap after lap...(can you tell I LOVE it???)
