Has anyone signed up and participated in online surveys? Being a student I could always do with a bit more money and wouldn't mind getting some feedback from Vibers.

What good ones are there? I came across this site from another forum (Rewards Central I think??) http://surveycomparison.blogspot.com/. Is it real? Can you really make a lot of money from them?

It just seems too good to be true...

It can take you ages and lots of surveys before you make anything out of them. The rewards simply aren't big enough. You can get paid $1-3 if you qualify and do a survey which can take 20 mins of your time. Also usually it isn't direct money you get paid with but rather credit to spend on items they have available. Like movie vouchers, or donating to charities.
Rewards Central to me is the worst one as it gets you alot of spam and your details get passed on to others.

Your better off entering competitions and winning great prizes instead.

It does take a lot of surveys before you get anything, but if you stick to the ones that pay either cash or you get points towards a gift card that little bit of money comes in handy for some of us. One to be wary of is Toluna, if you don't do enough surveys and get enough points before a time limit they start taking points off. I also don't like Rewards Central because after months of doing their surveys and almost being able to get a reward, they threatened to close my account because I apparently did a survey too quick. Then when I finally had enough to get a reward they said it takes at least 8 weeks to process it.

For my reward central/my opinions are the best... yes you get heaps of emails but I just click on them for the points and ignore the rest... simple. I'm nearly close to a $100 cheque I'm not complaining.

Toluna... doesn't even seem to be Australian that's the one I'm not keen on.
Lightspeed... the points expire in a year.

I've been involved with a lot of the above and like others have said, don't get much from them. I did once get a cheque for $100 for doing a detailed survey on PMT - so the more personal- the more they pay! Vibe Village is by far the best, and really the only one I trust. Goodluck with it and let us know if you have any success!

Can anyone tell me if these sort of rewards are tax free or do they need to be declared to the tax man as income?
