| I was doing my usual shop & for a change I paused in front of the kids yogurt.
As I remember, so long as you stay away from the dairy deserts (Ingredients: Sugar, milk solids, etc) you're in healthy territory! Something that looks like yogurt & fruit IS yohurt & fruit - RIGHT! DUH how silly was I! How 'Things Have Changed'. Kids yogurt is lucky to contain ANY live culture - it's listed so far down the ingredient list! And doesn't sugar kill culture off? What started years ago as a healthy snack has gradually turned into yet another undesireable. So without the sugar, reconstituted milk products & fruit flavorings (not to mention the list of questionable numbers) I find I'm paying DOUBLE for unflavored yogurt. Back to tending my own culture beside the fridge, back to the old days of homemade creamy - add your own fruit - yogurt for us

| | I hate walking past that section of the fridge at the supermarket as the kids nag me to buy - but I always say no. I would much rather buy a big tub and spoon into their Nude Food Mover containers - and half the time you're paying for extra packaging and a cartoon characters face printed on the cardboard wrapper that gets thrown out anyway. | | | |

| I agree totally - and even worse are the baby yoghurts which are just seetened and watered down versions of the real thing . These days I give my older two Jalna yoghurt and my little man (11 months old) has the homemade one with pureed fruit through it | | | |

| | We eat Jalna, it's fantastic, and keeps so much longer unopened in the fridge because it's pot set. Once it's open it doesn't go runny like lots of them too, it is quality stuff. | | | |

| So glad to have picked up on this topic - Just the other day I was complaining to my husband that our local supermarket only stocks one full fat yoghurt out of ten other varieties.
I want full fat for my bub, but don't want to spend a fortune on the gorgeous natural ones, such as Tamar Valley or Gippsland Dairy (my fav!)
Particularly when my bub goes through 200mls of yoghurt a day!!

| | My favourite is Greek Yoghurt. My little boy loves it too. Rich and creamy. Great with walnuts and honey. :) | | | |

| | For my one yr old I buy either Jalna plain yoghurt or greek yoghurt, and then mix in some Anathoth brand jam (fruit and sugar no additives). I've tried Vaalia kids yoghurt and it is tasteless. | | | |
