I have never had a problem with Origin Energy, but like everyone else I'm out to save what I can.
I changed over to AGL when they promised a huge reduction in electricity costs.
I have been with them since November last year and believe it or not I STILL have not received a bill - they tell me they do not have me as a customer - Even them ombudsman hasnt' been able to sort this one out yet.

My best friend's power INCREASED by two hundred dollars in the quarter for her first bill so she too has transferred back to the tried and true.

Argh......that sounds terrible revcosmic. There is nothing worse than stressing about power. I get hassled constantly with the door to door salesmen asking me to change power companies but they have never offered a great incentive to change. I hope you get it sorted out soon and not be left in the dark. Good Luck with it. :)

i had the same sort of problem when i moved house and being a new house i didnt think it would cause so much troubles, but because i was the one from the beginnning chasing them up i didn t pay for electricity for 6 months. was awesome.

but now i have found the bill has gone down almost $100 the last bill and that was with a heater going too.

I am in Brisbane and with AGL. We did not get a bill for 12 months - and then 3 arrived on 1 day - all saying they were overdue! It was just over $800 in total and so I rang them to "discuss" how this had happened etc... The lady on the phone said it happens quite a bit and legally they have to give me as long to pay off the bill as it took them to send it. So I am not on a payment plan to pay it off. And then - they sent me a letter to say my power was going to be disconnected because it was over due! Another long phone call and that was sorted out (I hope) for now. Anyway, they really anoy me!

we had the same problem with the gas and agl. took so many months to get off their system and back on origin - they couldn't find the paperwork saying we had signed up to them/moved from origin. never again. rip off merchants and the fact they are across australia is hard - bad enough to deal with them here in qld but to also have to deal with them in tassie where i have a place is not pleasant.
