Is by far the worst buy .. I bought it late October ) .. it's been serviced three times .. and then replaced and it still doesn't keep food cold .. I thought I was imagining it until I bought a temp gauge it doesn't get below 6 degrees even on max

:(:(:(

wow blingy how annoying to have to have a new fridge serviced 3 times already.....

my friend has had the same thing with his LG fridge... serviced within the first 6 months of owning it....

That's a shame. We've had a Whirlpool fridge for 12 years and just had our first drama with it. The defrost timer was stuffed so after the defrost cycle it wouldn't switch back on and get cold. Replaced the part and all is good, hopefully will get another 12 years out of it!

That's awful. I can understand a few dogy ones get through quality testing and needing to be replaced but if you've had yours replaced and it's no better sounds like a crappy model indeed.

Can I ask what model number or type your Whirlpool was? I recently purchased one and it worked for a total of 5hrs before packing it in. They have since replaced it with a new one which has survived a few weeks. I think I might get the extended warranty now

Hmm What can I say, I have had 5 "control" units in my Whirlpool all under warranty.

Oh no.

I bought the WRID41TS - please don't tell me it's the same

I wouldn't have a Whirlpool product in my home if they paid me. I lost faith in the brand after my Maytag (owned & produced by Whirlpool) washing machine flooded my laundry and I was told I was better off replacing my 4 year old appliance than getting it repaired, this was from their consumer service manager.
They build large appliances like they are fashion items, made to last a season!

We haven't had Whirlpool, but we had an Admiral fridge. About a year after we got it, the handle broke off and for the next 12 years we had to open it by prizing our fingers into the side of the door. We visited a friends home during this time and they too had a handle-less Admiral fridge. Other than that, we had no problems with the mechanics of it. We only replaced it as our family had increased. Good luck with your Whirlpools.
