I know this program has just begun and approval is pending but PLEASE let me in it! I can't wait and am so excited. There is not a person in Victoria (I would think) who didn't go there on a school camp as a kid and is waiting to take their own children there. Great job on this VIBE team, a fantastic cultural program!

I am also excited about this one.
I have never been to Sovereign Hill. I grew up in the country, and my school didn't have excursions to there. However, one of my kids has been there and said it was awesome. It would be great to go as a family.

I am so disappointed that I moved to the east of Melbourne last Christmas! I am now outside 'the zone'! I love Sovereign Hill. I went to uni in Ballarat, and used to love going to Sovereign Hill, and still go there at least twice a year as we have so many friends in Ballarat still.
Whoever gets to take part, Congratulations! You are going to love it! Do some panning for me, and make sure you go to the lolly shop to pick up some humbugs!

Woo hoo! I am officially an agent! I am so excited! We have already planned a weekend in Ballarat next year, and will also try a day trip using the V-Line service. My sisters' are excited too, and can't wait to go with their kids.
Now I just have to sort out my download problems...anyone else have troubles with Adobe 6.0? what have you done to get around this? I have tried opening using different means but can't do it.

Have you tried using Foxit Reader? It's the mozilla/firefox version of Adobe Reader (and it's free). You could give that a shot :)

I'm still waiting on approval for this programme. I hope I get it as it really sounds like a great programme. Having been travelling for a while I really want to do some touristy Australian things for a change :)

Thanks rushie - it worked! You have just solved a problem I have had for a very long time. I am eternally grateful to you! If you don't get approval, you can give me your email and I'll send you some of the offers! Thanks again,
Jenroc

Fail!

I guess I didn't get in because I don't have kids. :(

Boo! Not accepted either! Hope it's not because of the kids thing as well. People without kids do still eat and do activities you know :(

I wish that I could apply as we do have kids. But we live in central Vic, a bit over an hour from Ballarat and we are out of the allowed areas to live which seem to focus mainly on people from Melbourne. I hope they decide to make some discount vouchers that we could use anyway without being an agent for this program.

Yay, I got in too! We will be going this weekend, and I have already given out some vouchers. It sounds as though some vibers were handing the vouchers out at the gate, which is not really in the spirit of spreading the word. Now we have to print names on the vouchers and the people need to show their ID at the gate. It sucks a bit, because I would have liked to give a whole lot to the kids when my young one starts kinder this year. I do not know the parents names.

I am an agent and have just discovered what appears to be a discrepency in the terms and conditions regarding getting my three month pass extended. Everywhere on the Vibe site it says all you need happen to get the pass extended is for ONE discount voucher be presented in the three month time frame HOWEVER in the fine print of the Agents voucher you present to the ticket counter it states a discount voucher must be presented consecutively in the three month period.

I didn't read the terms and conditions on my agent's voucher til I printed it off and went last week. I didn't bother handing out vouchers for December because it's such a busy time and I thought I would hand out the January ones instead. So according to Sovereign Hill as no-one used my vouchers during December, I won't get the extension.

I can't seem to locate any contact details for Vibe to receive clarification about this. Beware those agents who were/are in the same position as me.

Hello, I'm fairly new to Vibe village and my family and I are very excited to have been accepted for this program!
Can anyone already in the program help me with the following few questions?

Firstly, my voucher only gives me a time frame of 9th Feb to 28th Feb 2009 (2 weeks) for my own family to visit, does the end date get extended? We've already got plans for these next two weekends!

purplelion said (quote) "Now we have to print names on the vouchers and the people need to show their ID at the gate."
Has anyone actually had friends/family use the vouchers?
How fussy were they at the gate with clause 4.3 on the voucher: " present a valid photo ID for each person using this voucher"
It seems excessive to me! Especially the 'each person' bit!!

Are we able to write by hand the name/s on vouchers?

I'm NOT trying to bend any rules but legitimately wonder how I can spontaneously share with family and friends if I then have to ask them for their details, follow up by printing specific vouchers (which require a much more sophisticated printer than the miserable black and white one we own) then, once printed hunt the people up again to give them the vouchers!!?

I would have liked to have a few vouchers already printed and ready to take with me when visiting friends and family.....sigh they don't make it easy, lol.

Thank you too, to misscatty for drawing our attention to the fine print "it states a discount voucher must be presented consecutively in the three month period. "
I assume from this that basically we have to have at least one voucher used per month....
Quote misscatty: "I can't seem to locate any contact details for Vibe to receive clarification about this."
I too am unable to find a 'question' page in the forums - or anywhere!

Hopefully someone who has used the vouchers already may be able to help my queries.

When I went, they did check my ID, and I am pretty sure they check everyones. I think it was because people were just handing out the vouchers to people who were already lined up at the gate which defeated the purpose of actually spreading the word. The people were already there!

I agree it is much harder, but we can thank the ones doing the wrong thing
