I'd like to try education Aids like; the maths/ spelling cards
pc games to improve literacy and numbers etc, maybe even things like the leap pads to help with reading by touching on the words.

Essentially things that my kids would find fun to do while improving their skills. I've already spent a heap of money on these things but my kids find them tedious and wont do them even though they're advertised as fun. I wont get them unless I know they're good value because they usually cost so much and although every parent wants to help their kids, who wants to essentially waste money on products and aides that don't help??

Yes, spelling/phonics cards. I've seen them but wondered if they would be a waste of money, because they could be too boring for most kids. Then there's the wall of educational activity books I see that would be good to trial some of.

I recently bought a well known learning system for my daughter, but only upon recommendation from friends who had had much success with the same item. I'd be hesitant to purchase an item without 1st trying it or having a similar recommendation, esp when some of these are quite pricey.... some items like this would be great - even if I wasn't selected, just to get the review from the other mums!!!

i totally agree with my oldest child going to kinda next year and also a one year old, learning is so important to keep on top of and if they can have fun while learning even better, it's so hard to know what to choose as there are so mnay out there it gets really confusing. please do this one.

I think this is a great idea as a mother of a son with autism as well as a grandchild with it too
l know just how important these education aides can be. But there are a lot out there and a lot of useless ones too. I would be great to be able to trial them and bea ble to pass on to sooooooo many people in my position.

great thread goldilox
