Hi Everyone, Happy New Year! Just wanted to share my exciting news...at the ripe old age of 41, I am 19 weeks pregnant with number 3 I have a son 11, and daughter 10, and when I hit 40 last year, decided it was "now or never". After a few worrying results, I'm happy to say all test results and my 19 weeks scan yesterday came back all clear, and this little one is due in early June - hopefully just BEFORE my 42nd birthday! I hope everyone has a brilliant 2011, and I look forward to being involved in many fantastic Vibe programs and parties!

Hey Kymichelle......congratulations to you and hubby and the kids. Wonderful news for you. Hope the pregnancy is going well for you. Wonderful news......did it happen on your Qld holiday? :-P Have you had any cravings for anything yet?
Wow 19 weeks....this is good because it now goes quicker for us to see what you have :-) Except don't let it go toooooooo quick cause my birthday is June, and I don't want it to come quick lol...because then I will be older again.
Seriously though......can't wait to see what sex it will be. The kids must be so excited. Big hugs to you.

Thanks Coffeekatz! I think the Qld holdiay certainly helped as I was pretty stressed before that! I've had some cravings but mostly aversions to things and quite a bit of morning sickness in frist trimester
but all good now I'm 20 weeks. I know what I'm having as we had to have extra testing due to my age - another reason I too am hoping this one comes a little early as my birthday is June 7th and am due on the 12th! The kids were a little unsure (being 11 and 10) but are getting used to the idea!
Had another scan last week and everything is going well.
I will keep you posted...

How are you going in the heat with the pregnancy?
btw a June baby is great....because you have a birthday in between xmas. about 6 months before/6 months after.
Will be interesting to see what you have. My nephew has just had a boy, and I have heard of 2 others having boys. Maybe boys are going to populate this year.
Whatever you have, it will be just great and exciting for you all. My g.f. had their last one when she was 41 and the g.f. is now 61. They said it was easy having other children older.
Well looking forward hearing updates on how you are going through vibe here
Take care

Pregnancy going well thanks. It hasn't been too hot here yet - supposed to be on weekend though. It's great to hear other successful "older Mum's" stories. I will keep you posted!

Hey Kymichelle.....finally found this thread again.
How's the pregnancy going, I've been thinking of you. I cannot believe it is nearly the end of March and June is getting closer and closer. arghhhhhhhhhhhh.
My nephew had a boy end of Jan.....then in between of heard of other boys being born. My niece is due in 2 weeks...she is big but all baby. Gotta be a boy lol.
Hope you haven't had any horrible hot days down there.

Hi Coffeekatz, things are going well here - 28 weeks today and growing steadily (although some days I feel HUGE). I just found out this week I have gestational diabetes and have lots of appointments coming up with diabetes educators, nurses and dieticians but I see this as a good thing as it will mean I have to improve my eating habits and continue exercising which can only be good for now and the long term. It also means I will probably get another ultrasound (for sizing) so that will be great too. We had a pretty mild Summer so not too hot, but so far Autumn has been pretty warm -but bearable.

I will continue to update as we go on - only 12 weeks to go!

Just a quick update for ayone who may be interested, nearly 32 weeks and all good. I had a qucik scan today and baby boy has turned from being head down to head up, but heaps of time to move back! I have gestational diabetes that I was managing with diet and exercise, but have started insulin this week to help keep my overnight levels OK. Despite this, am still loving being pregnant and making the most of it (the VERY last time!)

Baby Carter James Lithgow born 3 weeks early via emergency caesarean last Saturday 21st May, 7lb 50 cm. Waters broke 2am Friday, monitiored and no contractions Thursday, just started the drip to induce on Saturday when an internal found a life threatening prolapsed cord - straight to theatre and a baby 1/2 hour later! We got home yesterday and although a little jaundiced and with low blood sugars for a day (I had gestational diabetes) he's now gaining weight and just beautiful! I'm smitten (we all are). More later!

< Well you got your wish, he came before your birthday :-) What a lovely birthday pressy for you. He looks adorable (as babies always do). I so love the name also. I am so glad everything went well for you and please, please keep us posted here.
Does this mean that the diabetes will leave your body now and you won't have to keep tabs on it now or down the track? Honestly, I don't know how I would cope having to give myself insulin injections if I had to. I have type 2 diabetes (am right height for weight)??, I only have to treat it with exercise and diet at the moment. Am always under the level of 7 so hope it stays that way.
Congratulations again and enjoy every minute of him. :-)

Thanks Coffeekatz! The gestational diabetes has gone but I am at risk of diabetes now. Will repeat the glucose test at 6 weeks and see. I am no longer doing blood sugar levels and injecting insulin - which by the way was esier than the finger prick as it's a tiny needle in a "pen" (a unit with a dial to dial up how much you need and all self contained).
Will keep you posted. I must say "smitten" is the word when I think about this lovely boy :)
