Can someone please explain to me the use of a mobile phone skin? (condom in disguise) I saw one for the first time on Friday. Okay, the idea of using it I guess is to protect your phone, that’s great, but there is no seal at the top, so if you use it at the beach, sand will still get into your phone. If you drop it in water, it will still get wet. I am guessing the only real purpose is to protect it from scratching, but how protective is the latex anyway?? I thought I would voice my opinion and see what feedback I get. If it serves a real purpose other than a giggle, can someone please let me know. Also wondering who would buy one???

I think you are supposed to tie the top of the skin to complete the protective seal. I don't particularily like relying on them for protection for my phone as they tend to break very easily in my experience.

This may or may not be helpful but I got a shield for my phone from http://www.zagg.com/ It's basically just for scratches but it's pretty damn good because it's made with your specific model in mind.
